ABOUT ME

I have been practising yoga since 1996. I trained with the Yoga for Health Foundation and then went on to train in Iyengar Yoga.  I received my Introductory level two Iyengar certificate in 2005, and then went on to achieve Iyengar Intermediate level 1 in 2014 and Intermediate level 2 in 2015.

I have been to the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India twice to study for with the Iyengar family. I have also studied in India with Rajiv and Swati Chancharni at Yog Gange in Rajpur. In 2019 I decided to let go of the Iyengar label . My teaching is still very influenced by all the years I have been practising and training in Iyengar yoga.

ABOUT THE IYENGAR METHOD

The Iyengar method of yoga is named after  Yogacharya Sri B.K.S Iyengar who departed from this earth in 2014. The teaching helps you focus on correct alignment of the body in poses ensuring your're working safely, with maximum benefit to your flexibility, strength and wellbeing.

Classes generally end with a period of relaxation and sometimes breathing techniques.

Props such as blocks and belts are sometimes used in class to allow those with less strength or flexibility to work correctly and achieve their full potential.
